Advanced Technology
Technology plays a vital role in endodontic care at our office. Advanced imaging helps diagnose tooth infections and pinpoint sources of pain, allowing for precise and effective treatment planning. These technologies ensure patients receive the highest quality care and optimal oral health outcomes.
Dental Surgical Microscopes
We use advanced dental surgical microscopes to enhance the precision and success of your endodontic treatment. Root canal therapy involves removing infected pulp from deep within your tooth’s root canals—spaces that are often too small to see with the naked eye.
Our specialized microscopes magnify the treatment area up to 16 times, providing exceptional visibility and bright illumination. This technology allows us to detect tiny anatomical features, including hidden or accessory canals, that might otherwise go unnoticed.
By using dental surgical microscopes, we ensure a more thorough and effective procedure, helping us completely remove diseased tissue and support long-term oral health.
High-Resolution Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
Cone beam technology provides three-dimensional, high-resolution images of a patient’s mouth and jaw that allow an endodontic specialist to gain a comprehensive understanding of the problem tooth and its surrounding areas.
The localized, small field CBCT limits radiation while allowing us to view images of a focused region of the patient’s mouth. These images allow us to provide a diagnostic assessment of inflamed tissues before beginning treatment.
Digital X-Ray Technology
X-ray imaging is essential in modern dental care, allowing us to see below the surface of your teeth and jaw to accurately diagnose problems and plan effective treatments. We utilize digital X-ray technology to deliver precise diagnostic images with enhanced safety and efficiency. Digital X-rays significantly reduce radiation exposure compared to traditional film X-rays, while providing clearer, more detailed images.
This improved clarity helps us detect even subtle issues affecting your dental and oral health. In addition to better image quality and safety, digital radiography offers instant results that appear directly on our computer screens, allowing for quicker diagnosis and more streamlined care. It’s also eco-friendly— eliminating the need for film, chemicals, and waste associated with traditional methods.
Ultrasonics in Root Canal Therapy
The root canals inside a tooth can be extremely narrow and difficult to detect, yet it’s crucial to remove all diseased pulp from every canal to prevent ongoing pain or infection. In some cases, missed canals during an initial procedure are the reason patients require endodontic retreatment.
We use ultrasonic technology—instruments that vibrate at high frequencies with motions ideal for locating and treating hidden canals. This advanced tool enhances visibility and precision, allowing us to thoroughly clean and shape even the most challenging root canal systems. By incorporating ultrasonics into our procedures, our endodontists can deliver more efficient, accurate, and successful root canal treatments.
